What will the father and child do when they spend time together? What they do is just as important as scheduling time. Having seen forlorn looking father and child on trains, its important that the time together is rewarding and memorable. The best times are when the child is learning something, or enjoying some form of entertainment.
Babes & Toddlers
Babies are easily pleased. Just feed them and given them milk or water.
They will love the sound of Dad’s voice, so talking to them is a winner. Playing with their feet or tummy is a nice sensation for little ones. Rubbing their head is also soothing, just as it is for adults.
Infants & Pre-teens
Infants like to do things. Don’t be temped to only watch TV or videos. That may suffice for an hour, but encourage: reading, writing, maths, playing board games, video games or going to the park.
Do not sit for long periods on your phone when looking after a child.
Teenagers & Young Adults
Activities with teens take more time and money. Often they will want to go out, and the bill is on the father. Activities can include, restaurants, cinema, shopping, go-karting, theatre, concerts and escape rooms. Try to make each birthdays a unique experience. If every birthday is a restaurant outing – then no birthday is truly memorable.
